Green Day Headed for fifth UK No. 1

Midweek sales and streaming data from Official Charts (via Billboard) puts Green Day’s new album past the rest of the top 10 combined.

Saviors will give the Bay Area band their fifth No. 1 album in the UK, following American Idiot (2004), 21st Century Breakdown (2009), Revolution Road (2016), and Father of All… (2020).

Neck Deep’s self-titled set on Hopeless Records will likely finish second, passing up The Peace and the Panic (2017) and All Distortions Are Intentional (2020), both of which debuted at No. 4.

Saxon should follow right behind at No. 3 with Hell Fire and Damnation.

Shinedown Declared “Greatest Rock Band In Mediabase Chart History”

Shinedown has the most No. 1s, Top 5s, and Top 10s in the history of the Mediabase Active Rock chart, including their 21st No. 1, “A Symptom Of Being Human.” The band, who were awarded plaques by Mediabase, said via Instagram: “We are beyond grateful, and truly astonished and humbled.”

This comes on the heels of Shinedown adding to their record-breaking streak of No. 1s at Mainstream Rock Radio, as well.

Reigning Phoenix Music “Integrates” Atomic Fire Records

Reigning Phoenix Music, cofounded last year by former Nuclear Blast label manager Gerardo Martinez and tech entrepreneur Sven Bogner, today announced the “integration” of Atomic Fire Records into the company.

A little bit of history: Markus Staiger founded Nuclear Blast Records in 1987. Believe Digital acquired a majority stake in Nuclear Blast in 2018. In 2021, Staiger launched Atomic Fire, home to several former Nuclear Blast artists, including Meshuggah, Opeth, and Helloween. RPM signed Deicide upon launch.

Jochen Richert, formerly of AFM Records, came aboard as managing director for RPM Germany in October 2023. Nils Wasko, another former AFM staffer, followed earlier this month.

The new structure sees Atomic Fire sublabel Fireflash Records integrated into RPM, as well.

Reigning Phoenix Music is headquartered in Los Angeles and Hamberg.
