DROPKICK MURPHYS St. Patrick’s Day live-streamed concert gave the band a huge social media boost, with 41k new subscribers on YouTube (one of the platforms where the stream was available), up 2,628% that week, according to Next Big Sound. The show was also streamed on Twitter, where the band’s mentions were up 2,129%.
According to Nielsen Music/MRC, the Dropkick song catalog was streamed 7.3M times in the U.S., a 169% increase, in the week ending March 19. “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” gets juiced every March, but hit an all time high on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart this year, landing at No. 6 with 2,000 downloads.
