A new Slipknot album is always a cause for celebration for the Hard Rock, Metal, and Punk(ish) community. It’s bands like them, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Ghost, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, and a handful of others who keep the genre in the mainstream pop culture conversation with each release.
The End, So Far is Slipknot’s sixth Top 10 album on the Billboard 200.
At No. 2, it had the biggest sales week and highest charting position for a hard rock album since Ghost released Impera seven months ago.
Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti, tied for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in the last ten years, fended off the challenge from Slipknot and previously edged out debuts from eight major artists, including Post Malone, Luke Combs, Lizzo, and 5 Seconds Of Summer. This week Bad Bunny sold 84,000 equivalent album units, only 1500 of which were traditional album sales.
