Metallica, Ozzfest, Warped Tour
Top Touring Hard Rock, Metal, Punk(ish) Artists of the Past 40 Years
It’s James Hetfield’s birthday today! He’s got a lot to celebrate.
METALLICA sold more tickets than any other hard rock, metal, or punk(ish) artist in the last 40 years, according to a new list released by Pollstar ranking the Top 150 touring artists and festival tours. I’ve carved out the hard rock, metal, and punk(ish) acts, ranked by the total number of tickets sold.
The Stranger Things-fueled “Master Of Puppets” is No. 1 on several charts again: Hard Rock Digital Song Sales, Hard Rock Streaming Songs, and Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs. It’s still in the Mainstream Rock Top 40, alongside their 1986 touring partner, Ozzy Osbourne, and new entries from Bush and Lilith Czar.
