Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” from the enduringly popular 1991 self-titled “black album” is the latest Hard Rock/Metal song to cross one billion streams on Spotify. It joins “Enter Sandman,” which currently sits at 1.17 billion streams.
It’s especially impressive, given Metallica didn’t join the platform till 2012.
The band’s 1992 tourmates Guns N’ Roses recently added a second song to the Billions Club as well. “Welcome to the Jungle” crossed the threshold two weeks ago, joining “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” which currently sits at 1.58B Spotify streams.
