Merch Prices
As most of you reading this are no doubt aware, world events greatly impacted the merch business starting in 2020. The cost of blank garments is up, as well as printing supplies, to say nothing of the supply chain issues. (Did I mention inflation? The increases in housing costs and home prices?) Given these factors, I realized the prices for tees, long sleeves, and hoodies in Demon Hunter’s online store were perhaps too “punk rock” for the realities of the moment.
This made me curious about what other folks in the genre charge for similar items. Clearly, I’m into data, so I collected some in order for the band and I to make the most informed decision possible about what to charge right now.
It occurred to me as I did so that most of you would appreciate this kind of clean comparative analysis. What follows is the result of my own search.
Keeping in mind that many bands have multiple merch deals and stores online (including some bootleggers, which is a separate conversation), I stuck only to the main “official” stores linked to each band’s website.
In the few cases of price variation (BMTH for example charges between 25 and 45 for a tee), I went with the median average.
